PHOTO COMPETITION
Theme: Optimism of Aquaculture
Please submit photographs on a positive impact of aquaculture which highlights your optimism.
Post to: Facebook at page – AwF Optimism Photo Competition
Due date for submission of the photo is: midnight 7th May 2024
A weekly winner will be announced, and those winners will be promoted on Facebook and will go into the Final.
The winning photo will be judged by members of AwF and announced during the Aqua Farm 2024 conference 14 – 17th May 2024 at SeaWorld, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.

When submitting the photo and caption can you please ensure you advise:
- Your name and country.
- Affiliation & position e.g. Place of work or study & job role or student status.
- Education (e.g. organisation or educational institution.
- Photo caption (e.g. photo details); and
- 25 words why you are optimistic about aquaculture.
By posting your photo on the Facebook page you are consenting to your photo being used by AwF in website and publications. It must be your original work or you must have written authorisation from the owner.
If there are faces in the photo you may choose to pixilate these faces prior to submission of the photo unless people in photo agree to their face being used. That is your responsibility!
Judging criteria –
- Photo & accompanying comments address the question task – 40%.
- Photo & accompanying comments are both engaging and thought provoking re future of Aquaculture – 30%.
- Photo & accompanying comments are a catalyst for evoking in the viewer responses including emotions, points to consider, & diverse insights – 20%.
- Quality of photo (lighting, clarity, & balance in content) – 20%.
