Trade Show

If you are visiting the trade show, please stop by Booth # 521 to say hello and to learn more about our new business initiative – Aquaculture Learning Centers (ALCs) – which will be demonstration farms located in developing countries. The ALCs will produce fish and train people how to farm fish using various appropriate technologies. Graduates of workshops and courses will be encouraged to set up their own fish farm and buy fingerlings from the ALC to get going. Staff and AwF Volunteers will provide ongoing technical support.

The ALCs will be created with local partners as small enterprises providing information services (workshops, seminars, short courses, distance education) and products (fingerlings, feeds, new & used equipment) with the goal of becoming financially self-supporting within 3 years.

AwF is collaborating with a number of organizations to develop the business model and secure start-up funding.

We are encouraging firms in the global aquaculture industry to consider working with AwF as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.

We have created a bold vision that will require many people to play a part – what part will you play?
