This project involves the establishment of a fish hatchery, training in fish 'seed' production, the promotion of decentralised fish 'seed' nursing and the extension of technology.
The total grant to the Don Bosco Centre is Indian Rupees 646,000 (approx. US$ 16,000) spread over two years, funded by AwF (UK). The first fund transfer was made in early June, 2008.
In recognition of the fund-raising activities of the residents of a street in Marlow, England, the hatchery that will be built within this project will be named the AwF-South Place Marlow Bishramganj Fish Hatchery.
This project will be launched officially on 10 July 2008, two days before the 2008 South Place Marlow Street Party, which is again in aid of AwF (UK).
Full details about the project are available on the project page of this website.
Further news about this project will be posted later.
