Will you be in Busan?

AwF activities will be reported during a WAS conference in Busan on 22 May 2008, so please attend if you are interested in our work......

World Aquaculture 2008 is being held in sunny Busan, Republic of Korea, 19-23 May 2008.

See www.was.org for details of this significant WAS conference and exhibition - a chance to hear about research and the latest developments in Asian aquaculture, see the latest equipment, and visit Korean aquaculture sites. If you haven't registered yet, now's your final chance!

During a special conference session on 'aquaculture for the rural poor - the role of NGOs' on 22 May (starting at 9AM in Room 102 of the BEXCO Conference Center) several papers will be given on AwF activities:

  • AwF Chairman Kevin Fitzsimmons will give an overview of our activities around the globe and provide his vision for the future of AwF
  • Indonesian DDG of Fisheries Endhay Kontara will talk about some of the YSI-funded WAS/AwF work in the tsunami zone of Aceh, Indonesia
  • AwF Director Geoff Allan will describe the AwF-World Vision work in Thailand
  • AwF Director M.C. Nandeesha will talk about AwF work in Bangladesh and India
