An earlier news story on this page ("Michael New celebrates 75 years with fund-raising event" - click "More News" below and scroll down) described how £1,100 was raised during a 75th birthday jazz barbecue in the UK in July 2007.

At a luncheon that he hosted in Bangkok in October to celebrate his birthday with Thai and other close friends and family he received two more donations in lieu of presents totalling another £1,475 for AwF.

He is most grateful to those that donated at both events, whose names are recorded on our donors page, and hopes that others will find similar ways of raising funds for the work of AwF.
